Spring in Full Song with Opera Workshop’s Songs for Life

As the days brighten and flowers bloom, we have been singing our way through Limerick city and county, bringing the joy of live music to those who need it most with our Community Connect – Songs for Life Programme. This spring, Lorraine Galvin, Triona Walsh, Fiona Linnane, and Eoin Scanlon have been bringing music, stories, and songs to Carebright Home Care Centre, Bruff, and St. Camillus’ Limerick. From classical to popular favourites, these performances ensure that everyone can experience the joy of live music.

Nothing lifts the spirit like a familiar tune—singing along is always welcome (and hardly needs encouragement). We would love to produce this programme year-round. This can only be done with the support of sponsors and donations. If you know of a company or individual who might be interested in supporting our work, please download our Songs for Life sponsorship brochure to learn more and share it with them.

Committed to breaking barriers and redefining the boundaries of opera engagement, our Opera Community Connect program seeks to extend its influence to diverse audiences. Guided by the ethos of delivering opera in unexpected places and in unexpected ways, this program aims to inspire potential artists, captivate audiences who may not be able to attend our productions, bring joy and foster new perceptions of opera. Our Opera Community Connect Songs for Life concerts aim to overcome barriers to traditional performances by reaching those who may be isolated due to illness or limited mobility.

  • Through live music, we strive to bring joy and vitality, particularly to individuals with dementia and Alzheimer’s.
  • Our program seeks to evoke memories, stir emotions, and provide fun, making opera accessible to everyone and fostering community connections.
